"Too handsome for KSA" guy gets free Mercedes G55

So the "too handsome guy" from UAE gets a Mercedes G55 (link) for his birthday from a desperate unknown woman. Really? Are women that desperate for attention? I thought he was cute until I saw him in an interview on Youtube.
What do you think?

I was wondering why on his facebook page there were so many comments from Asians, he did an interview with a Filipino channel (link) so he must of had a big following in the Asian community before his new found world fame.

Cafe Bazza- Abu Halaifa Co-op

There's a new Cafe Bazza located in Abu Halaifa Co-op which to me is kind of a weird location considering the area is pretty ghetto.

Satanic rituals, naked people in KSA

Saudi Arabia’s feared religious police arrested 30 people, including Westerners and Saudis, after they were caught having a mixed-gender party involving nude persons, alcohol, drugs, sex and “Satanic rituals,” a newspaper reported on Monday.

Members of the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice raided a night camp outside the capital Riyadh lit by movie-inspired fire torches and seized 30 people from 11 nationalities, some of whom were totally naked.

Sabq newspaper, quoting a Commission member, said three men were caught having sex with women inside a tent while others were seized with drugs.

“They were having drugs and alcoholic drinks and some of them were moving and dancing to strange music,” the paper quoted the unnamed member as saying.

“Many of them were dancing around a fire as part of their Satanic rituals. Unfortunately, some of them were Saudis.”

The paper said those arrested were from the United States, Europe, Saudi Arabia and other Arab countries.

I wonder what the outcome of this will be.

Sir or Madam? You are not the father!

Transvestite's wife delivers baby 3 months after marriage

KUWAIT CITY, May 27: The Personal Status Court revoked marriage between a transvestite and his wife who delivered a baby just three months after their marriage.

According to the charge sheet, the plaintiff found out his wife was in the last stages of pregnancy, although he never had any intercourse with her. He said the woman delivered and tried to attach the baby to him, which he rejected since she was pregnant before they started their marital affairs. He explained that his marriage to the woman was only to please his mother who kept pestering him to marry before she dies due to her old age.

Lawyer of the plaintiff Hashim Al-Mousawi declared that his client had good intentions, but he did not notice the woman was pregnant because she is overweight. He argued that his client could not have become a father unexpectedly without having intercourse with the woman! He reasoned that his client never had sex with the woman due to his status as a transvestite upon which he has been receiving psychological treatment from a specialist.

He presented the birth certificate affirming that the period of delivery was only three months from the date of marriage, adding the woman tempted his client with monetary inducement to allow the child bear his name, but the latter vehemently rejected the offer and demanded to know the father of the child whose name he should bear.

Interesting article about transsexuals in the Middle East.

Saudi women need permission to drive in Kuwait

Kuwait will not allow Saudi women to drive unless they are permitted to do so by their guardians, the Gulf emirate’s traffic police chief was reported on Wednesday as saying.

“In case a Saudi woman comes to Kuwait to obtain a driving licence, we will not give her unless she gets approval from her guardian,” Brigadier Saleh Al Najim said.

“This rule applies on all Saudi women, whether they are minors, adults or married,” he told the Saudi Arabic language daily Alhayat.

He said Kuwait recognizes Saudi regulations which still ban women from driving cars, adding that some men do not allow their wives or daughters to drive.

“We do not want to cause trouble inside families by giving women driving licence without the knowledge of their guardians,” he said.

I've only seen one woman driving a car with Saudi plates and she looked American. I spotted her at LuLu with her kids and she got in her Lexus with Saudi plates and took off, I was surprised to see a female from Saudi driving in Kuwait.

What out for Zebras crossing!

Use the zebra crossing … KD 25 fine, 15 days jail for jaywalkers
KUWAIT CITY, May 22: Assistant Undersecretary for Traffic Affairs at the Ministry of Interior Major-General Abdulfattah Al-Ali has warned pedestrians against violating the traffic law, reports Al-Rai daily.

Al-Ali said pedestrians must use only the zebra crossing to cross the roads wherever there are such signs. He also stressed the pedestrians should wait for the road crossing pedestrian signal to turn green.

He added violators of this law will be fined KD 25, a maximum of 15 days imprisonment or either one of the two penalties.

When will they add the law regarding children must be in their car seats?

Zebra crossing? There are Zebras in Kuwait! or do they mean the crosswalk?

Bait Al Othman Museum

I've found my new favorite museum! I saw a tour ad for the museum via AWARE center but decided to visit it on my own with my hubby. Bait Al Outhman house was a restoration project taken on by the Kuwaiti Heritage Team, they restored it back to the beautiful house it once was. The home was built in the late 1940's by Abdallah Al Outhman who was a teacher and retired as "The Great Philanthropist". The house contained 157 rooms, 16 kitchens and 61 bathrooms.

The museum is divided into different areas including Kuwaiti house museum, the Maritime museum, Heritage hall, Drama museum, Journey of life museum and the Museum of historical machinery. There is a 1 KD entry fee which is very reasonable.

Old school Kuwaiti style
This newspaper headlines the end to alcohol in Kuwait according to my hubby.

The small martyr section with pictures of the remains of a Kuwaiti citizen found in Iraq.

I have so many more pictures but you would really have to visit the museum for yourself to get the total feel for it. I wonder what the next restoration project will be?

Jaime Oliver Products at XCITE

XCITE AlGhanim introduced us to their new Jaime Oliver line of products which was held at Gaucho Grill in Avenues Mall. There is an all-in-one cooker introduced to us that does several types of  cooking at once.  You can cut and slice items directly into the pan that includes self-stirring which allows you to leave it unattended and it will cook at the exact set temperature meaning you won't burn up your meal.

There is a blender, mixer and food processor included in his line.

We were entertained by the German juggler Sir Julian and he was definitely a unique character.

Paparazzi

You can find more about Jaime Oliver's home cooker here. A big thank you to Al Ghanim!

The Venue Hotel Apartments

A new building offering daily apartment rentals has opened up in Mahboula. It offers one and two bedroom furnished apartments with gym and swimming pool access. For one bedroom it's 35 KD and for two bedroom it's 50 KD per night. I just hope it doesn't bring the wrong kind of people to the area, it's already going downhill as it is.

A new KFC has opened on the ground floor.
