British and American English

I remember the first word that confused me was 'full stop' instead of period. I was asking for an email address and they were like bla bla full stop com, I was like what? Full stop huh? I've since learned flat, lift, wc and several other British words. But nothing compares to 'Fo shizzle my nizzle'.

Pictures around Kuwait

A little FYI for those who don't know about gas pumps, this one is universal and can be used on both sides. I always pull right up to them even though the opening is on the left of my car, they can be pulled out to reach, so you don't have to wait all day for the
My kind of driveway!
New menu at McDonald's means increased prices, items were raised around 100 fils,
'Virgin' is still here selling lingerie.
Cool car left in the parking lot.
Random things in Kuwait.

Refurbished old Kuwaiti houses

It looks like some of the old houses are being refurbished which is a great idea. It would be so nice to go to an area where the old houses were in great shape and could be rented out.

A little work and the houses look amazing once again.

Karak Gholam Tea Shop

I found the perfect little tea shop serving karak teas. I love the decorations and how cute it is. From what I've read it's co-owned by a female Kuwaiti blogger, it's located in Sharq, Dar Al-Awadhi, Ground Floor, Ahmad Al-Jaber Street (22322286).

They used this picture on their Instagram, I'm sure it takes a lot of practice to pour tea like that.

Those baskets hanging on the wall have coffee beans inside, I love it!

It's so colorful inside and some of the items have been repurposed, like the tire that was painted and is now holding colorful flowers. I had karak tea and nutella chapatti, the prices were reasonable and I would definitely visit again! You can visit their website (which is cute as well) for more information.

Switching to .Com

I've had my .com domain for a while now but I'm not sure if switching is worth it. I know visually .blogpost.com isn't taken as seriously as a .com site. I've read that the traffic to my site will probably be non-existent until it gets going. Does anyone have any knowledge or opinion about switching to .com? I'm also looking into a redesign as well but I'm not a website creator and  really have no idea about IT. Any help is appreciated!

Old Kuwaiti houses - Salmiya

I wonder if the original families own these or who keeps them. I know people still live in some of them even though they don't have modern standards.

I wish I had pictures of them in their original condition.

7 of the weirdest sculpture parks in the World - Kuwait makes the List

3. A Desert Marvel

What can you do with 35,000 tons of sand, 70 sculptors and five soccer fields of space? Create the world’s largest sand sculpture, of course.  Opened from January to April 2014, the sands of time recently erased this marvel in Kuwait (all sand sculptures are temporary).  Yet, the park was a spectacle to behold.  Created by the Sand Sculpture Company and commissioned by the Proud to Be Kuwaiti organization, this sculpture pictured took nine weeks to build and featured a 10,000-ton central palace that was more than five stories high and which ranks as the tallest sand sculpture ever built. Look for more sand sculptures around the world this year at the Fulong Sand Sculpting Art Festival in Taiwan through June, the Fiesa International Sand Sculpture Festival in Portugal May through October, and Storyland at Frankston Waterfront in Australia in December.(link)

Old Kuwaiti houses

I never realized how many old houses are still standing in behind Al Hamra mall. I wish I could save them all.

There's no going back once these houses are demolished.

Old Kuwaiti house - Kuwait City

These old houses try to hang on in Kuwait even when the area around them continues to grow into a modern city.

This house is on prime real estate nestled into Al Hamra mall.
