Security forces have apprehended the perpetrator, named as Abdulaziz Waleed Shaheen Al-Shamlan, after he had fled the scene, the statement added.

The deceased, identified as Turki Mohammad Al-Enezi, and five other policemen who have been injured, served at the General Department of Traffic, the statement noted.

Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Mohammad Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah stressed the necessity of implementing directives of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah for treating sons of the martyr Turki Al-Enezi as Kuwaiti citizens.

Kuwait will never forget the martyr who sacrificed his soul for its sake, the Ministry’s Public Relations and Media Security Department said in a press statement Friday.

The move is an honor to the martyr’s efforts in serving the country, it added.

The statement referred to the parental feelings of His Highness the Amir towards the martyr, who is a Gulf son to a Kuwaiti mother.

In another development, the Ministry of Interior announced on Friday that it arrested a Syrian resident, who seemed to be in an abnormal state, and his Kuwaiti wife who tried to escape and consequently hit several policemen and injured them slightly.

While policemen were on patrol at Sabah Al-Salem area, they suspected a Syrian resident named Khaled Hasan, the Ministry’s Public Relations and Security Media Department said in a press statement.

Accompanied by his Kuwaiti wife, he appeared to be in an abnormal state, it said, adding that while she was trying to escape, she ran over several policemen and injured them of them slightly.

Guy dances on car then beats Kuwaiti Cop

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 17: A 33-year-old Bedoun, along with a 31-year-old Jordanian, a 19-year-old Syrian, a 22-year-old Egyptian and a 23-year-old Kuwaiti, were arrested for consuming alcohol and disrupting public order in Farwaniya.

Security officers, including a lance corporal, rushed to the scene after the Operations Unit in the Interior Ministry received information about a public brawl in the area and a person who was strip dancing on top of cars.

Upon arrival at the scene, the officers saw the Bedoun dancing on top of a car while removing his clothes one by one. He carried out the act from one vehicle to another until he noticed the police patrol. He approached the officers and started kicking one of them whose rank is lance corporal. He continued kicking the officer and then fled from the scene.

The officer was taken to Farwaniya Hospital as he sustained injuries in different parts of his body.

Meanwhile, four others — the Jordanian, Syrian, Egyptian and Kuwaiti — were arrested as they were found to be involved in the fight along with the Bedoun who was also arrested later. Preliminary investigations revealed all five were under the influence of drugs. A case was registered and the suspects were referred to the relevant security department.

The Avenues Food Market

We stopped by Avenues for the birthday girl and recommended check out the Food Market currently being held in the back part behind Al Forno Italian restaurant. What a nice place! The area is surrounded by waterfalls, plants and trees. There are several different booths offering food, coffee and sweets, a cozy place to take someone.

It was a clean fresh place with a chilled atmosphere, I recommend visiting.

Sheikh Sabah Village

We headed out for a road trip the Heritage Village that I really wanted to visit. I thought it might compare to the Global Village in Dubai but sadly it didn't. It was long trip and the weather was so dusty, our luck! We finally arrived to an area in the middle of the desert, it looked like an awesome set up and we had planned on spending the day there.

The Kuwaiti museum included items from Dr. Ashkanani's museum and he was there giving a tour in Arabic which my friends could not understand so we headed off to the other areas. There were museums from the GCC- Oman, KSA, Bahrain, Qatar (which was closed, not cool!) and UAE I assume although I didn't see their museum.

I thought there might be different types of food from the GCC exhibits, sadly there were only huge museums with pictures and some items on display. We arrived before 12 pm and a lot of the exhibits were closed and museums were empty of people. I don't know if it was the weather but it seemed really empty and it's not like anyone would want to stay out there when it gets dark. Who wants to head back on that dangerous road at night?

We headed out for lunch and were met by a few know restaurants, I didn't see anything original and we settled for Hardee's. Most of the restaurants were lacking menu items and it was a mess with them not having change and minimal restaurant set up.

Omani sweets, my friend's daughter thought they they were cooking up a batch of sheera (sticky stuff used to remove hair) , my friends are awesome.

We were the only Western foreigners there and it didn't feel very welcoming. There weren't any guides or info centers to ask questions. I didn't know there were archery, horse and camel competitions either, it was another good idea that fell short. How is tourism supposed to be a priority when nothing is written in English and expats are not made to feel included? Take a note from UAE and even Qatar, their events are written in both English and Arabic and expats are encouraged to visit.

Heritage Village- Salmi Kuwait

My favorite historian Dr. Hasan Ashkanani has an exhibit in the Heritage Village in Salmi. I am lucky enough to be invited to join him and his group soon in visiting the exhibit, my first trip to Salmi.

Recently the Emir viewed his exhibit...awesome!
I hope the weather is warmer, I saw pictures of snow in Salmi. If anyone would like to visit his museum located at his home just let me know.

Old Kuwaiti house in Abu Hasani

I never thought I would come across an old Kuwaiti house in Abu Hasani considering how expensive the land is but I found this beautiful place close to the beach and I can only imagine what it was like when people lived there. The land is huge, enough for 3 houses and it is just open with three old structures and a new modern style chalet being built by the sea.

I wonder what they had..chickens, goats???

 I love the windows

It would be awesome if they would restore it and use it as a hotel for people who want to see what old Kuwaiti life once was.
