I have worked in schools across Kuwait for the last 15 years and it is a well known fact that the Arabic Departments in most schools manipulate their timetables to ensure they are free from 9-11 when the hunger fest begins. Many teachers ask for residency and are told over and over again - it's coming or it's being processed. Be thankful that good western staff actually still come to Kuwait considering how unstable the whole gulf region is. As an expat yourself- you should be ashamed of yourself putting lives and jobs at risk of HARD working people. The people you are attacking rarely have a day off, no social lives, spend their weekends planning and making activities for children that are worthwhile and educational- or would you prefer an entire school full of sleeping Arabs that take naps in staff rooms and spend the first two hours of the day having breakfast? It's obviously an inside job and a personal attack towards certain female members of staff who are on dependent visas. Some psycho teacher trying to sugar coat it when it's blasted all over the papers. I had to delete her comments just to make it stop. Majority of the schools have shady practices but it's only until the teachers stand up and report them to shoon. My American friend worked as a teacher/behavioral therapist (the word/name of school is mentioned in your story above, but I'm not going to state it) and after almost a year, was not provided a residency visa by the school. They also paid her consistently late. The owners of the school, you ask? Hmmmm.

I receive a lot of questions from readers about what school is good, what school is bad. I always recommend that BEFORE coming to Kuwait, they get on teacher's forums and chat rooms in Kuwait and pose questions. Same goes for what schools you are going to send your children to.

I have posted links to some of the forums in Kuwait. They are interesting reads!
http://desertgirlkuwait.blogspot.com/2012/01/dg-index-information-for-teachers.htmlDesert Girlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10654214615877870670noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8328075989473268266.post-62988190067872297852015-05-10T19:37:01.722+03:002015-05-10T19:37:01.722+03:00Gate Mall or Baraiq Mall that's the only ones ...Gate Mall or Baraiq Mall that's the only ones I can think ofCrazy in Kuwaithttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09438670456717426074noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8328075989473268266.post-63023558067490951602015-05-10T19:27:34.964+03:002015-05-10T19:27:34.964+03:00wasn't Al Kout... try again. close tho. ;)wasn't Al Kout... try again. close tho. ;) Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
