Old Kuwaiti houses, surviving Modern Times

I know time is running out for the remaining old houses in Kuwait, I go around neighborhoods and try to take pictures of them before they get demolished, sadly I missed a few as a dirt lot was all that remained of some of them.

 This last one is just amazing! I wonder if it was full of color when it was built?

Kuwait used to be Colorful

I love history, I love to collect old things. I love to see how the world once was, full of color and one-of-a-kind properties. Kuwait used to have colorful outlandish houses after the discovery of oil. The designs were individual catered to the taste of the owners, and everyone had their own unique style!

This house was just amazing; the colors were bright and stood out on the block

Here it is today, you can barely see the colors but it is still amazing house

This picture is from 2014 when I first discovered the old hidden house which have since been demolished leaving this and one more as survivors.

There used to be so much color in the world! My grandmother had a refrigerator in this yellow color that was covered in stickers I placed on it as a child

I love this one the most, when I was young, I bought a 69 Impala in California

Beautiful cars that lasted, painted in a rainbow spectrum of colors, those were the days!!

 I love to look at vintage ads from my old magazines; I scanned some to show how vivid the colors are and how cool ads were back then.

We once lived in a colorful world but not any more. These days everything is made of dull colors with no personality.
