Animal Cruelty- Baby Tiger for Sale

I found this posted on Facebook. It seems like they sell all kinds of animals.
The ONLY way to produce a tiger or lion with a white coat is through inbreeding brother to sister or father to daughter; generation after generation after generation. The kind of severe inbreeding that is required to produce the mutation of a white coat also causes a number of other defects in these big cats.

In June 2011 the board of directors for the American Zoological Association (AZA) formalized their 2008 ban on the breeding of white tigers, white lions or king cheetahs by their member zoos. Their report said, “Breeding practices that increase the physical expression of single rare alleles (i.e., rare genetic traits) through intentional inbreeding, for example intentional breeding to achieve rare color-morphs such as white tigers, deer, and alligators, has been clearly linked with various abnormal, debilitating, and, at times, lethal, external and internal conditions and characteristics, which are outlined in this paper.” This change in policy came more than 12 years after Big Cat Rescue first released Dr. Laughlin’s expose below.

The same gene that causes the white coat causes the optic nerve to be wired to the wrong side of the brain, thus all white tigers are cross eyed, even if their eyes look normal. They also often suffer from club feet, cleft palates, spinal deformities and defective organs.

The white coat is a double recessive gene so most of the cubs born through this inbreeding have normal coloring but they too suffer the same defects and are referred to in the trade as “throw away tigers.” As such, they are often killed at birth because only the white tigers are the big money makers. And because none of these cats are purebred (they are all crosses between Bengal tigers and Siberian tigers), they serve no conservation purpose.

The American Zoological Association (AZA) recognizes that these cats should not be bred and admonishes AZA accredited zoos not to breed any more of them. The leader of the tiger Species Survival Plan states openly that the only reason people breed white tigers is because people will pay to see white tigers.

You can end the misery by just Saying NO to any place that breeds or exploits white tigers.

SO SAD!!!!!!!!

Animal Market Kuwait

I had to pass by the Animal market to pick up a light for my aquarium and I noticed the graffiti on some of the closed shops I've never seen the security gates pulled down so I was surprised to see the words sprayed on the doors.

I wanted to take this little guy home.

This gazelle should be running free in the desert not caged up in filth.
The crowd was small last weekend which is most likely due to the immigration issues going on.

Cow slaughter outside my Window

Yesterday was quite a day for me. I woke up to my daughter telling me there's a cow downstairs in the dirt lot. I saw a poor cow in the back of a truck that had been there all night and it was so tired. I took my kids to see it and the worker guy told me it was for the Eid and they were going to butcher it. That afternoon we returned home to find the Indian workers had hog tied the cow and was going to butcher them right there in front of the apartments in front of everyone. I started yelling at them from the window and threw an egg to get their attention. I had just came back from the hospital with a sprained ankle and couldn't move fast enough and hoped to get there before they killed it.

I hobbled down to the dirt lot and went over to the cow and started yelling at them not to kill it there. I guess it really shocked them and they got confused. I told them in Arabic to take it somewhere else and kill it not in front of kids. Finally a old Kuwaiti man and the haris backed me up. The next step was to get the cow back on the truck and that took forever. It was one of the saddest things I saw and I couldn't let it happen that day.

Here is the videos, caution it's pretty graphic:

The second part:

I tried to explain to them that it was a dairy cow not a cow to eat but I don't think anyone cares here. This is definitely not the halal way of killing an animal and they should be ashamed and punished for what they did.

Friday Market + Animals = Cruelty

These images may disturbing but this is what goes on at the animal market located in the Friday Market area. It's really sad that no one regulates the conditions of these poor animals. It's also ironic that the sick and sad animals are right across from the veterinarian hospital. They have however removed the dying dogs they used to bring to sell that were severely malnourished. My mom and I were there one time when Baladiya showed up and everyone was running and hiding. My mom contacted the man in charge and offered help with the situation.

She even sent him a written proposal on how to deal with the issues at hand. He spoke English and was very interested at the time but of course he didn't respond back to her and the tragedy continues. I'm sure some missing pets end up there too as I've heard stories of animals being stolen and sold at the market. The prices are crazy which means no one will ever buy any animals. There was a sad looking Chiuaua with overgrown toenails and no food, the guy wanted 300 KD for him! Really?!

There was only one shop that had the animals in cages with water and some food. They had some kind of green mats for the cats to lie on and when we asked why the other animals had no mats they just looked at us like huh? Dead birds lay in the dirt and poor little dogs look for any kind of attention.

The little monkey that made me want to cry.

Beautiful animals locked up...
Supposedly they make coffee from it's crap?

Las time I checked animals do not eat bread and rice....

I swear this dogs looks like he belongs to someone..

More exotic animals...

Why?

No one really cares about these animals even though "cruelty to animals in Islam is treated with grave contempt and the harshest of penalties, the fire of hell is accorded to any individual who dares to be cruel to animals"

The Prophet (PBUH) stated "Verily, there is a heavenly reward for every act of kindness done to a living animal."

It is mentioned in Hadith : "Animals do pray to God as other creations do."

There is no excuse for any animal to be treated like this!

Animal Market next to Friday Market

On my day off I woke my husband up early so we could go to the animal market to look at fish. I want to buy a new set up and fill it will non-aggressive fish. The pet store in Fahaheel had no fish so we had to drive to the Friday Market area to look at fish and tanks. I finally found one shop that had guppies that were really colorful. I decided to wait and bring my mom who is the "animal expert". She knows all about fish and what kind of tank I will need. Next Saturday Mom!

The aisle of the market...
The saltwater aquarium...

Regular fish.......

I thought these were cool..

Goldfish..One of the birds hanging around...

The market is probably closed on Fridays. Don't be shocked at the condition of the animals as no one regulates these places. I've been there when Beladiya came and made some of the people take cages down but of course that lasts until they leave then they go back to operating the same way. I will be posting more pics......
