Youm Al Bahar- The sailor's day heritage Village Part 2- N3al shop

There were a few shops opened at the time of our visit and one was a shop for hand made n3al (traditional Arab slippers) so I had to stop in and take a look. There weren't any for women but I did get a pair for my hubby and son. The 10KD price was reasonable and I like to buy from "handicrafts" shops so that tradition continues.

There's a huge selection, from the smallest size to the big foot sizes.

Ramadan Kareem 2013

Sears in Kuwait

Do you miss shopping for stateside name brands? Those people who have lived in Kuwait for a long time probably know that there is a Sears store in Farwaniya beside the OSN head office and now there are locations in Hawally and Abu Halaifa in Magic Mall- which opened recently and only has a few items to choose from so far.

Bedding, they even have bed-in-a-bags for around 35KD.
Pool tables, exercise equipment and weights.
Kitchen accessories
Shoe department on the second floor, my favorite area.
 Second floor store view.

There are so many name brands such as Coach, Carlos by Carlos Santana, Baby Phat and many more. My advice is when you see something you like you better buy it because it won't be there next time. Be careful of fake Chinese products mixed in with other brands. Most of the kids clothing is some line from China as are the kids shoes. Happy Shopping!

No eating, drinking or smoking Ramadan violators face fine, jail
KUWAIT CITY, July 7:

The Ministry of Interior has advised the people to strictly comply with law number 44/1968 that prohibits eating, drinking and smoking in public during Ramadan. In a press statement Sunday, acting Director of the Public Relations and Moral Guidance Department and Director of the Security Media Department Colonel Adel Ahmad Al-Hashash disclosed the penalties include fine of not more than KD 100 and imprisonment of not more than a month or both for those proven to have violated the law. He said the law also stipulates punishment for those who will encourage people to break the rule, such as the closure of the establishment used for this purpose for not more than two months. He added the interior minister has the right to issue a ministerial decision to shut down establishments under such circumstances and the necessary legal action will be taken against the owners. Al-Hashash went on to say the law was enacted to protect the people from anything that might hurt their feelings while fasting. He added the ministry also congratulates the entire nation on the occasion of the holy month.
