Abhishek Bachchan in Kuwait for Omega

Huge event with hundreds of people trying to catch a glimpse of Abhishek Bachchan.
Red carpet all the way

Peaceful time before the arrival
Paparazzi lined up
Some of their watches and gold that remind me of the Cartier collection

Of course it never fails that someone from these several 'Kuwait' pages on FB takes my posts and doesn't give me credit, this time my IG post.
And the other page using my post
Besides the stampede and constant pushing it was a nice event.

Ayadi Q8ya Expo Mishref Hall 7

We had a great time today exploring the halls in Mishref Fairgrounds, a couple exhibitions are going on now.

Tomorrow is the last day, they are open from 4-10 but it's better to go after 5 pm as most booths are open. I went there to visit the "Help Kidz" booth as they are now supporting the illegitimate baby unit or "Ward 10" in Sabah Hospital and are taking donations, you can follow them on Instagram @HELPKIDZQ8

AlGhanim Honda Launch Event

Al Ghanim held their invite-only launch on Sunday at the ice skating rink. We got there at 7 pm the parking lot was already full. We started off in the middle with all the fancy chairs but ended up in the nose bleed sections on the right side, unlike the Kuwait Miami concert the seating was all one level which meant you could NOT see anything unless you were in the first two rows and there were two narrow exit doors, I'm sure once it was over there would be a mad dash to get out.

We sat waiting for 2 hours on the hardest seats you can imagine. Finally the program started and by that time expat families with children began to leave. When it was time for Husain Al Jassmi to perform we had to wait another 30 minutes for them to set up. It was really hot and the place was full of fake smoke, even Husain Al Jassmi complained about the heat. Unfortunately we had to leave early because everyone had work the following day which sucked because I wanted to watch his concert since they are banned here.

Note to females: When you wear white make sure you wear something underneath your skirt, remember the neon lights will show everything and I mean Everything!

He invited a child on stage to sing some Barcelona song.
Thanks to Honda!! It was a great event, in the future can we do these events on a weekend?

Operation Hope Yardsale Pictures

It was a nice sunny day for a yard sale. Operation Hope had a pretty good turn out and all of the donated furniture was sold quickly. We had rented out spaces for individuals to sell their goods and I think they made some money as well. Overall,Esther's Attic is doing very well and we have been able to help so many more needy people with the funds from Esther's Attic.

If you are interested in stopping by please do so soon as Esther's Attic will be closing soon for the summer and will reopen when the weather is cooler. We will always be taking donations no matter what so please keep bringing your clothing throughout the year.

Again,we are still in great need of donations. We accept items in good condition, we do not accept used underwear or lingerie. I was the one who got to open the bag of used thongs which was not what I expected.

Natureland/Raha Stone Mill- Healthy eating in Kuwait

This was one of the booths at the P2BK event. They make healthy foods and the ingredients are fresh and freshly ground. They also have gluten free items.

It's great to see Kuwaiti owned small businesses. The owner my mom talked to was Kuwaiti/American.

Old Kuwaiti items- Proud 2 B Kuwaiti event

These pics are from the P2BK event. This booth had old Kuwaiti documents and items.

This is also the booth that had the Kuwaiti driving license for the late emir. I read in the Arab Times someone had stole it, good thing I got a picture of it. It's really sad when someone can't display historical items without the fear of some lowlife stealing them. I wonder if they recovered it?

Old Kuwaiti exhibit- Proud 2 B Kuwaiti Event

I was so happy to see an old Kuwaiti exhibit at the Proud 2 B Kuwaiti event. It was awesome to see the guys making the clay pottery items and pounding each gold tack into the wooden chest. I wish there were more people interesting in learning the old Kuwaiti building techniques. If there were more areas that focused on old Kuwaiti arts and crafts then maybe more people would be interested.

The area where Lulu Hypermarket is located is supposed to be a "handicraft" area that's why they want to close down Lulu. They closed down several other businesses as they were not "handicraft" type businesses. I haven't seen any markets for arts and crafts. I would love to fill my house with old Kuwaiti items but I have only seen work at Sadus House for bedouin rugs and some ladies selling a few items at Friday Market. If only people would focus some attention to the fading arts and crafts of the old days instead of getting everything from China.

There should be a dedicated area in Mubarakiya for them. There should be more classes for people who are interested. The next generation will only know about these items when they see them in books or in museums. It seems like other GCC countries still try to preserve their heritage with "heritage villages" for arts and crafts but sometimes I get the feeling as if everyone here is trying to forget where they came from. Everyone is too focused on driving fancy cars and wearing the latest trends. I'm trying my best to buy items and books from the old days to give to my little ones so they can see where their father and grandfather came from instead of going to the museum.

There's not too many old people left which means very few stories about the old days will be told. Shouldn't someone take the time to preserve what little bit of history is left?

Independence Carnival Photos

We went to the "carnival", in reality it's a bunch of stands selling knock off items from China. The latest fashion seems to be the a long dress/shirt (picutred below) as everyone was buying them up from the Arab sellers. There were spices from Oman and Saudi. It was a nice function.

Any kind of event is worth going to. You never know what you will find!

Kuwait Concours 2012 Pictures

We finally made it to the car show even if it was on the last day. Traffice was a nightmare of course but we got lucky and found a great parking space. It was awesome! I just love the mix of old and new, especially the Phantom, that's my favorite car besides Murcielago. The first section was great but walking in Marina Crescent was awful as the crowds of people were everywhere.

Not easy to walk with strollers and little ones through the wave of people. This is the first public event I have gone to in years. I would like to attend more but Kuwait has become overcrowded and it's hard to enjoy anything with people pushing and shoving.

Overall it was a great event. As we were leaving the winds started to pick up, messing up some of the displays. Definitely time to go!

I hope this becomes an annual event.

Holiday Bazaar Pictures

The holiday bazaar was filled with people and lots of items for sale. This is the first time I've been to it and we had a good time. There were door prizes being given and raffle prizes to win. We made a nice amount of money that will be used to buy items for the winter bags.
