I should just stay Home

I should really stay home. If I'm not with my husband I should really not go out because I always get in trouble. Today was my first day driving alone since I came back to Kuwait. After being out for a couple hours I came home and looked for parking. There was an empty space but there was a Prado blocking the spaces, someone in the car was waiting. I pulled behind them and tapped the horn. She wouldn't move. Flash the lights she didn't move. She put her car in reverse then back to park. Tapped the horn but she just flat out refused to move up a foot so I could park.

Finally an old Kuwaiti lady came out and got in the car. I finally parked and as I got out I was like "man she's a b****", not talking to her but talking to myself, well she heard me and of all the Kuwaiti people in my area she had to understand English. Well there she goes telling me I shouldn't talk like that in her country and that I might talk like that in my country but not hers. I was like all you had to do was pull up a little bit to let me in the space. She kept on bla bla bla then as she drove off she spit at me.

WTH! I then cussed her in Arabic and she reversed her car and got out and approached me. She was a little lady and shorter than me but she was like what did you call me?! She came up to my face, I was waiting for her to slap me, as they usually do that to foreigners but then she grabbed her shoe so I grabbed mine, she hit me on my arm and I hit her on the side of head with my shoe and left a big azz shoe print on her hijab. She then went after me with her other shoe. I was trying to call my husband and take down her tag. She gathered up her shoes and got back in her car and of course as she drove off she spit at me again. Just like when a camel gets pissed it spits at people. Now I know how Bush felt. lol

My husband was ready for the police. I don't know if she went to the station to report it but now I have to be aware of my surroundings. She wasn't a city Kuwaiti so I'm sure she has a tribe behind her. Maybe she will do something to my car, it's a rental so whatever. I will have to get my bat and put it back in the car. I used to always carry it with me. My first day out and this happens. I just hate when people spit at me. It's so ghetto.

I really try to be nice but with so much stupidity it's very hard especially when some people think they are better than others. I will arm myself when I go out alone, I don't trust any of those kind of people.

  3. Having to wait an extra few minutes for your parking spot is hardly reason to swear at someone. It gets people all worked up. But you didn't learn your lesson and said it in Arabic too. That's really bad class and rude. We americans need to set a good example here! Instead of putting a bat in your car, I think you should put some patience and an apology.

  4. GOD I hate how they are so rude and then say "it's our country," like they walk on water. I, too, am an American married to a Kuwaiti and have many Kuwaiti freinds and MOST are wonderful people but some have a 'tude. Do they not realize they would fall apart if all the expats left the country? Who would raise their children or clean their toilets? You had every right to tell her not to be so freakin' selfish, all it would take was her lazy ass to move forward a little bit, what would that have hurt? There is a little part of me that is happy that I'm not the only one who gets in an occasional scrap with the locals, some of them can be such asswipes. Spit on me and you are going down, gurl.

  5. I feel ya! They should think twice before just blurting out rudeness, some American chicks will fight right back in Kuwaiti, I love to do it for the shock value to. Like when I pump my own gas, the people are like OMG did you see that.... things like that are fun... :)

  6. lol, THAT is F-ing Craazzee....it's so funny. When I try to describe what it's like in Kuwait to Americans here in the States, My go-to explanation is that there are a lot of laws, but not a lot of rules. I think the Kuwaiti lady resented you for stealing from their man-pool. =P

  7. After reading this story, i will never let my wife go to the mall by herself again. My wife hate when people stare at her and she always ask them "what in the hell are you looking at"? I tell not to do that if she is by herself. But she is hard headed and one day she got into an arugment with a old kuwait lady. My wife's Arabic is very good and i was on the phone while she argued with the kuwait. I could here every word like the kuwaitie was in her face. After about 3 minutes of this, she walked off. I was yelling baby, just walk way the whole time. And she finally did. So from now on she does not go unless i go with her or my daughter goes with her.

  8. Yeah, I know how your wife feels lol My husband has told me not to get into any more touble cuz' he's not coming to get me. I just finished a court case against some covered Kuwaiti to knocked my phone out of my hand thinking I was taking pictures of her and after I proceeded to chase her around the souk she locked herself in the gold shop and her husband and I then got into it. Having to miss work and go to court sucks so I've learned my lesson.
