AWARE Center- Sheikh Sabah Village Visit

A Village in the Middle of the Desert Saturday, February 20, 2016 Departure from AWARE: 9:00 am Expected time of arrival: 10:30 am (the village is about 1½ hour away from AWARE Center) Group exploration: 10:30am – 1:00pm Lunch Buffet: 1:00pm – 2:30pm Individual exploration: 2:30pm – 4:00pm Return Departure: 4:30 pm Fee: KD 10 – Adults KD 5 – Children (age 6 – 12 years) KD 2 – Infants (age 1- 5 years) Free – Infants below the age of 1 (no bus seat) (Fee includes Transport & Lunch Buffet) Kuwait is keen on supporting and strengthening its national heritage. Working on this goal, the Sheikh Sabah Village was established, north of Kuwait in the Salmi Desert. The heritage village was established to promote the Kuwaiti traditions & folklore. The Village houses 6 museums and each museum has arts & heritage presented by each of the 6 states of the Gulf Cooperation Council which highlight the features of popular traditions of each state. The vIllage also includes a man-made lake. The Village also hosts competitions such as: archery, horse, camels, hawks & sheep competitions and popular games. Limited Seats!
